The Basil Inn – Yummy thai street food

15 Jan 2010 In: Thai

Oh joy, I’ve finally found THE place to go where I can enjoy mind-numbingly good and spicy tom yum (nam sai), som tum (papaya salad) and my all time favouriate Pad kapow moo without flying all the way to the Land of Smiles or make a trip down to smelly golden mile. :P Awesome cha nom yen too. Definitely not for the sissys this place in Pasir Ris Downtown East as it’s almost like eating back in one of the streets of bangkok and with prices starting at $5, you can bet I’ll be back for more.

Essential Brew @ Holland Village

15 Jan 2010 In: Fusion, International

Headed down to Holland Village over the new year and found a chillout gem hidden away at the stretch of banks facing the main road. Essential Brew serves ‘tea-infused’ cuisine, quite a unique concept I’d say.  We decided to have our dinner there and took a while to choose our mains but thankfully we got [...]

Thus, the birth of Bali Thai, the unique blend of Balinese and Thai food culture and oh yeah, [...]

They would get together, start a fire burning and large portions of prime meat skewered together are slowly cooked to perfection. They wore conventional knives on their belts, sliced thin and succulent [...]

We had Fantastic Spanish Dinner @ Serenity Spanish Bar & Restaurant in VivoCity. It was dinner time and the place was packed with locals and remarkable number of expats. The live band was playing latin and top 60s. Music was great. First time I saw a Acoustic band with Double Bass in Singapore. The Ambience [...]

L’artisan Bistro & Bar

2 Sep 2009 In: Continental, French, International

Surprisingly, very good European food can be gotten at the cheap. I’ve been to L’artsan Bistro & Bar quite a few times now and they constantly impress me with the quality of food. The cuts of beef and pork are simply outstanding. None of that tasteless beef made tasty only because its smothered with pepper [...]

Sakura Buffet is Value of $

16 Aug 2009 In: International, Japanese

Sakura buffet had one of its outlets  located in ommi centre, beside the science centre in jurong. A pretty strange place to locate a restaurant if you have not been there before. Ommi centre does not have rather much visitors, but when i reached sakura, it is quite crowded despite the place being a little [...]
