| for the best hainanese chicken rice, my vote would have to got to the Qing Feng Nian Chicken rice balls beside Lavender Food Court. It is located at the food court below Hotel 81. Chicken is really fat and juicy, rice is really fragrant and perfect stickiness....best is in the form of original tennis-sized balls! Really authentic Hainanese! |

Agree!!!!!!! Singapore's chicken rice is rather standard, some may be slightly better with their homemade sauce, most cooked very nice and fragrance rice, however, most stalls' chicken sucks, as the meat is so soft and 肉鸡feel. Malaysia has very nice chicken for some of the famous chicken rice stalls, but most of the time, rice not as good. |

I ever tried Qing Feng Nian's stall at Toa Payoh, really really lousy. The rice ball was cold and very smashed due to over pressing, tasted like eating kuih. Soup was cold too, and taste yarky! The chicken... also cold and so fat.... so oily, bean sprouts were equally bad. Sauce nothing special, i do not know how can such a stall survived while Singapore has many other nicer ones... If you don't believe, try it but don't bring friends to avoid embarrassment. |
