i was alo very, extremely dissapointed when i went to secret receip at imm in the month of April 2007. the service was bad, no one came to take our order until we had to signal a waiter to come. For every simple question i asked about the grill fish that i wanted to order, he had to go to the kitchen to check and in the end he came back only to let me know there was no fish dish for that day !! So We stood up and left the place. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO THE IMM OUTLET EVER AGAIN !!! The service at this out is in need of improvement !!.

I’m extremely DISAPPOINTED with the service provided by Secret Receipe on the promotion of cakes for National Day 2007. The 42% discount attracted long crowds at Holland Village & IMM branch. Hence, we could not buy any cake when we made MANY trips yesterday.
Today we went to VivoCity and was happy to find cakes available. However, we got VERY UPSET as we were told to pack the cake ourselves…WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?? If they have no experience to handle such overwhelming response, I suggest that they do not have it. THis would save their name and reputation at least.
I seriously hope they can do something to improve their service since it is all about providing good service in Singapore. I’m definitely share this lousy experiences at Secret Receipe with my friends….haha…the power of spreading the name of Secret Receipe through word of mouth…

I also have the same problem when I call the IMM branch during the promotion. They told me they are very busy. But over at the Holland Village and Suntec
branch they are very nice. They even tell me what cake to buy. Because I never eat cakefrom Secret Receipe before except for the carrot slice.

I went to the one @Vivocity and i didn’t have such a good impression after that. I could say that was my first and last time i’m going (to Vivo). Although the Chicken Cordon Bleu was nice, the service sucks. In the end, after waiting TWENTY minutes for my dessert (ice-cream), I decided to cancel the order. I will still go to secret recipe …… but maybe at a different one.

Their service is quite bad and the food (other than the cakes) is horrible. Sometimes there are bits of plastic wrappings or hair, and even once the chicken had a soggy price tag still attached in the food served to me. A place to avoid at all costs for regular eating unless you like cakes.

My family just had our lunch at the one at Plaza S’pore. We love the Oxtail stewed & Noodle in Tom Yam Kung. They are so nice, we want to try their other dishes for our dinner tonight. Now that we are back at the West, we will go to IMM branch instead.

Sad to say, I agreed that secret receipe at imm I went sometime ago left me a bad impression especially after the renovation. I like the place before renovation, spacious and have a view outside. Experience that tables were not clear automatically after customers left and you have to signal the waiter or waitress to take your order. Sigh …… Think Secret Receipe will be my last resort of places to go …..

service standard that are not gd may not be as bad as it seems… it does matter a lot as to what kind of expectations you have before you proceed to a specific place…
being in a service industry myself, i’ve seen many “bad” examples of ugly singaporean diners and shopper who really bear that kind of a “customer is always right” and “since i’m right, do it my way or you’ll get it” attitude… sad to say, sometimes these service staff just can’t help it…
for example, on a busy weekend when there is 20 tables of at least 4 guest per table… table 1 call to ask for something, while on the way to the kitchen or bar, another table called then another… i mean sometimes it just happened and only the last who called for the staff to request for something gets it whereas the first table don’t… but that’s when the customer will say why he get it first…
sometime, food that need a longer preparation method is ordered by you but another table of guest who come in later get their food first, you will start kicking a fuss saying “how come my food is not served?” or you ordered a fried rice which takes 3mins to fry and a stew which need 15min to prepare, so tell me… to serve the 3min food first or wait for 15min to serve both together? tell you the truth… either way, you ‘ll get complained… either they complain they waited 30mins for all their food to be served or they will complain that “my wife food is out for the past 15mins WHERE IS MY FOOD???!!!”… dillema for the kitchen right?
crazy promotions like the 1 for 1 freebies will draw huge crowd if given the proper publicity… so in order to smoothen things like DIY packing so that the last customer will not have to wait too long… so what is the right thing? to aim to serve to the last customer at the shortest possible time or to look into details? either way, we can’t satisfy both ends…
the moral of the story… be more tolerant… i don’t mean to say all complains are fake but try to put yourself in people’s shoe before you act… it will result in people being jobless over a small issue… no joke…
