Being the first restaurant to localise pasta, the Italian fare served at Aglio Olio comes with a Singapore twist, the use of chilli padi as a substitute for the usual chilli flakes, culminating in the birth of a dish to call Singapore’s very own.
With four levels of spiciness - mild, normal, spicy, extra spicy - you can experience anything from a pleasant tingling to a fiery meltdown.
As part of the restaurant’s attempt to appeal to the health-conscious, every table has a placard extolling the benefits of ‘Aglio’, which in Italian, means garlic, and ‘olio’ which means olive.
There are also options for vegetarians.
